Treatment Options

As a naturopathic doctor I am trained in a variety of treatment modalities and together with my patients I am able to utilize one (or multiple) - whichever is the best fit for you!
Take a minute to read about some of the treatment options which may be implemented during your treatment plan
Botanical Medicine

  • Based on time-honoured Traditional Chinese Medicine, acupuncture is used to promote the flow of “Qi” or energy throughout the body. According to ancient principles, Qi flows through various channels throughout the body, each channel representing a different organ system and impacting various processes within our bodies.

  • Acupuncture needles are used to stimulate the Qi within the channel and promote the healing systems already in place within your body.

  • Never had acupuncture? Don't worry – the needles are very thin and most patients don't even feel them when they are inserted.

  • Conditions treated with acupuncture: Immune deficiencies, hormonal imbalance, digestive issues, musculoskeletal complaints and more!

Botanical Medicine

  • The use of plants as medicine goes back centuries – some common pharmaceutical medications are even derived from plants!

  • Plants contain various elements that impact the human body and can be used for a wide variety of conditions. Plants often pose lower side effects compared to prescription medication and formulations can be tailored for each individual patient and concern.  Botanical medicine can even be safe for children – always consult your ND before using a product in children under 12.

  • Botanical medicine can be a great way to support the body’s innate ability to heal itself and can also be used as preventive medicine

Nutrition & Lifestyle Counseling

  • 'You are what you eat'. This could never be more true, in a world where food has become over-processed, pre-packaged and full of ingredients barely pronounceable. I am a huge advocate that real food matters.

  • With training in a variety of dietary protocols and nutrition, we can work together to determine which foods are best for you, and which ones don't agree with you as much. I will also determine which vitamins and nutrients may be missing from your diet, as deficiencies can impact our overall health status.

  • As Hippocrates once said "Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food"

Physical Medicine

Physical Medicine

  • Your best body is a body that moves well and I want to help you achieve that.

  • As an ND I am trained in osseous manipulation (chiropractic adjustments), soft tissue massage, intramuscular stimulation, as well as exercise therapeutics.

  • These tools allow me to determine the underlying cause of your physical pain and address any structural misalignments, postural irregularities, and/or muscle tension.

Intravenous (IV) Therapies

  • I love using intravenous (IV) infusions in my practice - they are completely customizable to each patient's nutrient and health needs

  • IV nutrients are injected directly into the bloodstream meaning they bypass your digestive tract and are absorbed rapidly. Because of this, they may be an ideal adjuvant for patients suffering from gastrointestinal issues that impair absorption of nutrients, such as Crohn's or Colitis.

  • IV infusions can be used to enhance athletic performance, boost the immune system, improve stress management, and more!

*IV therapy is not currently offered at Alta Vie Health - Check back soon for updates!

Medical Testing

Comprehensive Medical Testing

  • As an ND I have access to conventional medical tests, including routine blood tests through Valley Medical Labs and LifeLabs.

  • Conventional testing does not always provide adequate information to detect/monitor disease. Where additional testing is indicated I use options such as:

    • Dried urine hormone panels

    • Food Sensitivity Testing

    • Complete Thyroid Panels

    • Heavy Metal Testing

    • Comprehensive Stool Analysis

    • Ovarian Assessment
